Before telling you what and why I'm worried, I want to share my opinion on JC life.

Frankly speaking, I still don't understand why students hate or dislike JC life. Some friends I know find JC life okay TILL NOW. I know JC life is not happy-go-lucky, but it is also not something that is IMPOSSIBLE to be accomplished. I do not mean that I'm a mugger, JC life is just complicated and has to be done by the student themselves without any guidance. That's all. You see, there will be no guidance from universities all the way to jobs and retirement (unless you seriously kneel down and BEG the lecturer or the boss for help.) It sounds tough but it can be coped as long as you plan the time well. I do not want to say more about this because it will lead to negative comments from others.

Now, I'll tell you why I'm worried. I'm worried because of my CCA. Somehow, some CCA members (especially the J1s) don't seem like they want to participate. It's quite obvious to differentiate who likes the CCA and doesn't. (Note: Liking the subject of the CCA doesn't mean you will definitely like the CCA!) Some members even gave shocking comments which are not supposed to be said. I think it's time for the EXCOs and the enthu ones to motivate the not-so-motivated ones. If the fall in interest goes on, the whole CCA is going to be "disastrous".
Some reasons why they don't like, in my opinion, are that they are not used to the intensity of JC life, not used to scoldings and even being hao lian (I can't think of the English word because I'm just too tired...). I will not go on further into this topic as it will also lead to negative comments from others.

I went to IMM to go to Band World. I went into the lift and wanted to press 4th floor. Surprisingly, there wasn't 4th floor button. I took Lift A, that's why. Hence, I have to go to 3rd floor and take travellator to go into the warehouse. Wow, just like my senior said, it seemed like I would easily get lost... It was dark, like a Resident Evil scene, and almost all doors are closed, so you can't really find the office. I called them to check again and they told me it was closed... so I have to go there tomorrow. Seems like tomorrow's schedule is also going to be packed... but I have no choice because proficiency test and competition is coming soon...

Alright, that's about it. I do not want to talk about how I mugged. I'm sure you also do not want to know, because you already know how. (...) Good night, everyone.

2010년 2월 22일 월요일,

Guess what, I've got scammed. The reeds that I bought were old and produced a horrible tone. The size of the reeds they gave to me was wrong too. They gave me Size 3 instead of 3.5 ...
I should have listened to Ian Pang's advice, not to buy reeds there.

Never mind, I don't carry emotional baggages along. Just take it as I donated to the music shop $8 as CNY Angpao, and to show that I'll not be going there to buy reeds anymore.

Hence, I'm planning to buy reeds and other band equipment in Band World this Saturday. Anyone interested to go can contact me.

Nothing much happened today, just that it's getting tough for me as I have to settle my clarinet problem. (Getting USABLE reeds, mastering scales, maintaining correct tone and mastering articulation)

Well, that's about it and I hope I could get better reeds from Band World. Oh yes, and I heard the Dutch Masters Suite by Johan De Meij and I found it quite interesting, a composition that was full of imagination! However, the piece is still difficult, especially the intonation as there are many harmonic chords.

2010년 2월 21일 일요일,

Hey, for those of you who had seen this BLANK blog and found out that I have updated finally for 3 years, well done then, hahaha...
Well yes, I'm going to start blogging from today onwards and start a new hobby! (yeah right...)
Whatever... Let's start my VERY FIRST POST!!!
Today's Sunday (duh...), the busiest day in the whole week. The good news is that I was able to plan my time well (not really...). The bad news is that I didn't get to complete all my task.
Here is today's task:
1. Pass the worship song sheet arrangments (by me) for check
2. Attend Mei Shian's birthday outing
3. Buy a) 1 V12 Bb Clarinet reed, size 3

c) Pad dryer from BG France
d) A pair of Vater 7A drumsticks
e) 1 Guitar Pick (medium)
f) Reed case
Here is today's plan:

1.15pm - Buy "Wolfman" movie tickets
1.30pm - Have lunch
1.45pm - Go to arcade centre and walk 1 whole round...
2.00pm - Go into cinema
2.15pm - Start of "Wolfman"
3.45pm - End of "Wolfman"
4.00pm - Go to Gelare restaurant
4.15pm - Get out of Gelare restaurant without ordering anything (haha...)
4.20pm - Go to SWENSENS restaurant
4.30pm - Here comes the EARTHQUAKE!!! (definitely not literally)
4.40pm - Play with that EARTHQUAKE
4.45pm - Head to MRT to go to Bugis
5.45pm - Arrive at Bugis and head to Bras Basah Complex
6.00pm - Arrive at Bras Basah Complex and head to Swee Lee Music Shop
6.05pm - Buy the reeds, pad dryer and other stuffs
6.15pm - Head to Ranking music shop (OMG, closed...)
6.20pm - Head to Central Public Library
6.30pm - Head to Studying Lounge (Brian, are you going to...)
6.35pm - MUGGING :X (man, Brian, you disappointed me...)
9.00pm - Leave the library and head to bus stop
9.15pm - Take bus and go back home
10.00pm - Home sweet home
Well yeah, the plan seems to be long-winded somehow. Let me explain briefly on what happened. (obviously...)

Alright I'll start from Mei Shian's birthday outing, the movie. Well, some found me wierd that I laugh while watching thriller. Actually, I laughed in the beginning of the movie, and that's my habit, that's my behaviour.
I'll rate this movie (Wolfman) 3.5/5.

Basically, the story plot was a little bit confusing, they "fast-forward" the timeline where it was
not important. I like what they did but the "fast-forward" part let me think again "What happened?" It was a flash of images right in front of your eye. Then, you will start to refresh your memory back to the images, a waste of time in conclusion.

The movie also had gory scenes, intestines and arms flying out (1 arm, 3 intestines if I'm not wrong), which some girls can't stand it and say EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

The best part of this movie is that the suspense is sudden. It's a little unexpected. It will frighten you for few seconds and you will feel the cold breeze around your body.

But comparing to other movies, the story plot is a little boring... It was expected... so 3.5 for me.

Next, the SWENSENS, we ordered regular EARTHQUAKE (one of my favourites there). After getting scoops of my Sticky Chewy Chocolate and some other flavours, there were bits of flavours here and there left, melted. Then, Aixin mixed all of them! Nicely done! However, the final product was a melted multi-flavoured ice cream, but it was a nice combination of banana, chocolate, lime and caramel. In the end, all that were left were 4 cherries and dry ice. Guess what we did. We put the cherries into the small bottle containing the dry ice and we add water into it. We even add pepper and salt into it for more fascinating "chemical reaction".

Here's the final product.

It's like a bartender's artwork!!! Beautiful, isn't it? (No, that's gross...)
Then, we paid the bill and left.

Last of all, the Bras Basah part. I hurried to Bras Basah Complex as fast as possible, hoping that the shop won't close. And YES, I reached there at 6 (Swee Lee closes at 6.30), a bit of victory and achievement.
As I went in there, it was busy. I waited for few minutes for someone to get the goods for me and bought the reeds and the pad dryer (25% discount!). I checked out the reed case too but they only sold the Vandoren 8-reed case, which was $62.50. The seller said that it also has 25% discount for it but it was still too expensive for me. Seems like I have to go to Band World one day.
Then, I headed to Ranking Music Shop and haizz... it closed. It was then that I realised it closed at 6 on Sundays. So in the end, I didn't get to buy a pair of 7A drumsticks.
Then, I went to library and realised I forgot to buy guitar picks too, so I didn't buy 2 things, drumsticks and guitar picks... It's okay, I can go there another time.

I won't talk about what happened in library because it was just MUGGING. So there you go, that's what happened today.

Time to take a shower and sleep, getting ready for the 4 and half hours break, 2 lectures and oral workshop for tomorrow.
